As December drags on, the days stay a steady humid 33 degrees, but the weather is dry. Then, just after Christmas, the skies open and it rains for nearly a month, non-stop. The creeks, which are normally dry, swell and gush in an enormous effort to rid the island of so much water.
I acknowledge that this photo was taken on the traditional lands of the Wulgurukaba people, and pay my respect to Elders both past, present and future, and their tradition of respect and sustainability for these lands.
