CORAL
As a diver, I spent many years watching the needless destruction of coral reefs and dwindling populations of fish.
Now, as a film maker, I am exploring that destruction, and some of the forces and attitudes that fuel it. Unsurprisingly, as with many environmental issues, scientists have identified and understand the environmental pressures that cause the death of coral reefs, yet most of the holiday-making public tend to ignore those issues, and many of those in close contact with reefs live in ignorance.
Coral is a work in progress. An environmental film with a focus on human beings great and small, and a world that my grandchildren will not witness, because by the time they are old enough, it will be gone forever, sacrificed for the short term enjoyment of a selfish generation.
