Schools of fish are fascinating. Research has shown that certain species can form a virtual brain – a network of “cells” that communicate and modify ideas using motion as neurone pathways. This picture, taken in Egypt’s Red Sea in 2008, is my best portrayal of this intense crowding of animals.
