You could be forgiven for thinking this jetty-like lookout point at Mapleton is indeed the edge of the world.
From here you can see the creeks that the waterfalls terminate into winding their way through the rainforest, the only clue as to their path being the palms that line their banks. In the distance, the setting sun descends through timeless clouds over the Burnett Range.
