A rainbow lorikeet flaps it’s wings as it comes in for a vertical landing. The rainbow lorikeet is a noisy fellow, especially when inebriated. At the start of the wet season in Australia’s Northern Territory, these birds become drunk on what is thought to be fermented fruit. This one however, is not.
I acknowledge that this photo was taken on the traditional lands of the Wulgurukaba people, and pay my respect to Elders both past, present and future, and their tradition of respect and sustainability for these lands.
